Do I have to bring lots of money to be in Thailand

Do I have to bring lots of money to be in Thailand?
Hi I'm planning to do studyabroad in Thailand. The school is called Bangkok University. I don't know how much I need to bring money to Thailand. I'm thinking going there twice because first to go there as a tourist to open a bank then go to the school. I don't know how difficult doing this without my parent. Well I don't have any relative live in Thailand. I know for sure my uncle live in Cambodia but I never seen him in my life. So I wanted to know what you think about the money for school and supporting myself there awhile I'm studying there. The reason I ask because I don't want to make a hassel or have problem at the end. Just to let you know I'm Thai and Laos born in the USA.

Best way is to have a ATM card and online banking in your country. Be sure your bank will know you will be in Thailand so they don't block your card. You will find that Banks here in Thailand are very confused about opening bank accounts, you can go to 10 branches of the same bank and get different answers most say you need a work permit but thats not true. Best just to go and try until you get one that says yes. Bangkok Bank is my choice but many branches may want a Thai person to sign that they know you. After you have an account here, you can also transfer money here from the Bank in your account. Best to have a bank in your country with online banking, and have a parent as a co-owner of the account so they can do wire transfers to you. Is is best to visit here first to be sure your going to like it here, Thailand many not be everyone cup of tea.

It's a bit of a hassle opening a bank account here. You need to be a house holder or have a house holder, EG the house holder of where you are staying to go to the bank with you. Each bank branch stands alone, so you might get different answers even from the same banking group.

The ATM card is a good idea if you can get a "no fee" atm - this is very important - - no fee !! Bkk Univ should be able to give you guidelines as to your expenses

ATM debit card for travel once you have your visa as a student, then open a Thai bank account. Best to have travelers checks for transferring money in large amounts, like $500 TCs. The reason I say this is its $35 at some banks in the US to transfer cash. Or just ATM money and deposit inside the bank. I have friends that use ATM cards to pull cash and deposit into their thai banks. I just pull and spend, but keep 3 thai bank accounts.

uh...This is all I can figure out for this time: -Though you may live far from Seoul you can audition now online...I think you can just post a video of yourself dancing,singing,etc...something like that..JYP is also holding international auditions...in Hongkong and Australia -I think it is necessary for you to know at least some because you're going to sing/act in korean remember?:) though when it comes to communication..i don't think it would be much trouble cause most koreans there, especially those involve in the entertainment industry, can speak fluent english and other languages such as chinese...Anyways...all in all..you might need some help when it comes to performing. JYP,the boss, is good at english. -I don't think it would be a problem even if you are only 14...cause as what I know..training takes a lot of years before someone gets to have his/her own debut...though NOT 100% sure about this one..it depends on the management -I think if you pass the auditions you have to fly to Korea...though I don't know if they would be the ones to pay or you yourself...Just to be sure..you might wanna save some money just in case...:)) -I haven't read their contracts yet so I don't know when it comes to life expenses...but maybe you can apply for a life insurance. You can check this site out for more info, though I'm not sure if this will really help: http://www.allkpop.com/2010/11/jyp-entertainment-to-hold-auditions-in-australia-singapore-hong-kong oh yeah...I'm wishing you the bestest luck if you ever make it to the audition and pass it...:)) hope I can see you on tv someday.(hmm...can I have your autograph someday?:-p)^^ Also, don't just leave your options only to JYP, you can also try out for other company auditions!:) Never give up! Hwaiting!>< sorry by the way if this isn't much info...

How to get a scholarship in American?
I live in Cambodia, and I wonder if there are Universities in America, it would be a best if it's in Texas (my uncle lives there) and California (my grandparents live there) that provide a international scholarship, cos I really want to live in America... Please give me all the information like how to apply there, and if there's a scholar ship, the the subject that needed (anything would be great except math and physic), what do this scholarship provide us, if there aren't and I have to go there as a full-paid transfer student, how much am I going to spend for a year (as you guess)??? Thank You So Much... All the helps and informations will be appreciate.

Who can provide me grant for furthering my study? I am a poor man living in a poor country,Cambodia.Thank you.
As a poor Cambodian man, I would like to post this question to ask for help. I love to further my higher education, but I don't have any money. Therefore if someone help me, I will treat them as my parents who save my life from ignorace.

I would get online and see what kind of grants and financial aides are available in your country.
2 :
There are a lot of scholarships provided for Cambodian candidates to further study abroad, such as in USA, New Zealand, Japan, China, Vietnam, France, Thailand and so on. You can go to see the bullentin board in front of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. New scholarshiops are announced every month.
