Which is safer and better for an american expat to live in, Laos or Cambodia?
Which would be better for an american expat to live in for not over a month? Cambodia or Laos? I understand Laos is communist, but you can abtain visas which would let you stay for a certain period of time.

Cambodia I prefer. But the best of all is Malaysia.

The best place is the Philippines. Friendly english speaking people. Tropical climate with nice beaches and resorts. Best value for your $ in SE Asia. Easy and inexpensiveRetirement and Tourist visa extentsions up to 14 months.

Hi Chandara. No, is the simple answer. You will be able to pick up US armed services radio in your area, plus BBC World Service and the US equivalent. To get US normal radio, uses the internet! Most of it is streamed, google for the one you are looking for and play it on the PC speakers. You can record that way too. I also recommend the BBC web site, lots of good stuff on there (but not American). Good luck, Steve.

Can I purchase an airline ticket for a friend that lives in Cambodia? I live in the USA. How do I do this?
I would like to know what website online or where I need to go offline to purchase the airline ticket. What do I need and what does my friend need? Thank you.

Call Cambodia Air. They fly out of major cities. Must Use Credit Card !!!

Best to go to a travel agent where you live. They can book the flight(s) and you can pay at the agency. It is also better security for you and changes/problems can be handled by the travel agent you worked through

You should be able to. Call the airline to find out. I live in Germany and I have booked my girl friend's flight from the USA to visit me three different times on US Air and American with my credit card on-line and on the phone.

Bring some rifles and grenades just like visiting Iraq....

i went last summer and got a permanent stay visa. i'm pretty sure my dad bribed them or his friend did. health issues, all i can think of is AIDS. employment resources, try phnompenhpost.com. i saw some ads for jobs on there. i think most foreigners work with like NGOs or other organizations like that.
